Water Rights in the West Bank: Potluck with 1for3

Boston Workmen's Circle, 2nd Floor (not wheelchair accessible)

Join us for a potluck and discussion with Nidal Al Azraq, Executive Director of 1for3. We’ll hear from Nidal about 1for3’s work. RSVP here so we know how many people to expect.

Nidal Al Azraq, Executive Director of 1for3, is a Palestinian refugee and youth rights activist in the Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem.  He has taught human rights, theater, led summer camps with the Lajee Center, and produced a documentary film, “Degrees of Incarceration,” exploring the effects of political imprisonment on the Aida Camp in collaboration with Amahl Bishara.

1for3 partners with the Lajee Center in Bethlehem and is dedicated to providing refugees cultural, educational, social and developmental opportunities with a focus on water as a human right. With experts from the region and the US, they are building a multi-functional water garden with underground cisterns and filtration systems that collect water during the winters and make it available during the summers, along with green space, a sports field, rooftop gardens and more. Aida Camp is surrounded by the separation wall on two sides and is adjacent to two Israeli military bases and suffers from extreme water shortages due to Israeli water policies. 100% of the money raised from the 5K will directly support Palestinian refugees.
