Aging in Community Discussion

Runkle School, 50 Druce St. Brookline
The Aging in Community Committee gathers the voices of BWC’s older members and discusses how our community can sustain and nourish us as we age. We provide opportunities for learning, support and activism.
Join us for a discussion of the book “Being Mortal” by Atul Gawande. Our discussion will be spread out over two sessions:
  • Sunday, October 15th (at Runkle School, 50 Druce St.)
  • Sunday, October 29th (at BWC)
The New York Review of Books describes "Being Mortal" as: “A moving and clear-eyed look at aging and death in our society, and at the harms we do by turning it into a medical problem, rather than a human one.”
We encourage you to read the book ahead of time and attend both sessions. We will focus on both the content as well as the personal issues that emerge.
$10 suggested donation, no one turned away for lack of funds.
