Welcome, Ann!

I'm so pleased to let you know that we have hired a top-notch interim director, Ann Silverman.
Ann has worked with nonprofit organizations in New England for 30 years and has acted as Interim Executive Director to more than a dozen nonprofits. (Among these is JOIN , the Jewish Organizing Institute and Network, from whom we often get our wonderful community organizers, like Dylan.)

Ann's skills and experience are just what we need to support us through our leadership transition. She will be working approximately half time, and has already gotten started. Dianne Perlmutter and I, as the co-Chairs of the Boston Workmen's Circle Transition Team, will support her during her time with us.

We couldn't be happier and can now move forward to begin the search for a permanent director. Please look out for a brief Google survey of members to solicit your input and your networks in our search. We hope to have the posting ready soon and to identify many promising candidates, so please help us in getting the word out.

Speaking of directors, please join us to celebrate our outgoing executive director Lisa Gallatin for everything she's given in the last 15 years, and to applaud all we've accomplished together! Watching Lisa prepare so diligently for this transition has reminded me again how dedicated she is to our community and how hard she works on our behalf. Let's offer her a fabulous tribute for all she has done for the Boston Workmen's Circle.

We are putting together a Tribute Book for Lisa, and hope you'll save the date of October 25 for a good-bye party.

With your donation to support Boston Workmen's Circle in this transition year, you have up to one 8.5 x 11" page in the Tribute Book to share your appreciation or reminiscence about Lisa - whether just a few sentences, or a whole scrapbook page. Donate now!

Finally, please extend a warm welcome to Seth Robinson, our new office administrator. Next time you call the office or you're in the building, make sure to introduce yourself and say hello!

Stay tuned for another update in August from Rosa Blumenfeld, BWC President (on vacation now) and enjoy your summer.
