“The Workmen's Circle is my Jewish community because it allows me to express all the different aspects of my Jewish identity in one place. It’s where I act for change while being part of a larger, inter-generational community.”

Congratulations to our Hey (5th grade) students on an excellent protest at the Burger King in Grove Hall, Dorchester! The Hey class led the way as over 100 students, parents, workers, community allies, and union activists turned out to support Burger King workers. In the words of the MassUniting coalition, our Shule students are now "the newest champions in the fight for better wages and a voice on the job for fast-food workers." Read their whole glowing writeup of the protest here! Check out our Facebook album for more pictures. And watch the interview on Boston Neighborhood News with Shule director Jenny Silverman and Hey class student, Simon Chernow.
